Slayer

İlk albümleri Show No Mercy 1983 yılında Metal Blade Records tarafından piyasaya sürüldü.Bu albümle grup ilk hayranlarını edinmeye başladılar. Bundan sonraki albümleri 1985 yılında çıkan Hell Awaits oldu. Müzikal anlamda Show No Mercy albümüne göre daha çok beğenilse de, şarkı sözleri genel olarak " şiddet, şeytan, ölüm" etrafında toplanıyordu. Ayrıca bu albümle birlikte Dave Lombardo`nun ilerde en iyi davulculardan biri olacağını göstermeye başladığı da gerçektir. 1986 yılı grubun patlama yaptığı yıl oldu. 2001 yılında Danimarka’da kurulan Volbeat en baştan beri rock’n roll ve heavy metal öğelerini bir araya getirerek dikkatleri üzerine çekti. Heavy metal vokalistleri kadar Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash gibi isimlerden de etkilenen Michael Poulsen’in önderliğinde ilk albümleri “The Strength / The Sound / The Songs”u 2005′de yayınlayan grup rock ve metal medyası tarafından umut vaat edilen grup olarak yorumlandı.
